The 964/993 chassis was the only generation of 911 from 1965-2012 that did not receive a solid-mounted steering rack. The result was less noise but also decreased steering feel and stability under hard cornering. Porsche originally designed this kit for cars equipped with optional 18" wheels, but it is a recommended upgrade for all 964/993 from 92-98*

This reinforcement mount ties the two ends of the rack significantly increasing the strength and rigidity of the steering rack itself. This translates to more direct steering feel by eliminating the rack's ability to flex and move when high cornering forces are applied. Recommended for all 92-98 964 and 993.

*Please Note: The steering racks on 89-91 964 are different then later 964 and 993 cars. The hydraulic lines slightly interfere with the placement of the brace, so the lines need to be gently pushed/ bent and the brace needs to mount with the flush side down to accommodate.
